SEO Case Study of a Fantasy Sports Platform in India

What Do They Do?
Gameofguru is a newly launched fantasy sports platform in India. The concept is similar to the popular fantasy sports apps like Dream11. At present, one can take part in four popular fantasy sports, Cricket, Football, Basketball ( NBA ) and Baseball ( MLB ).
I worked here as a full-time SEO Executive. Currently, I don’t have access to the website property, Google Search Console, or GA4, and I didn’t save the data when I had access. I’ll update some historical data from third-party sources soon.
My Strategies
Their goal was to get organic targeted traffic to websites for app download and onboard fantasy players signups during IPL 2020.
- Back then the entire website was built on wordpress CMS, using Elementor page builder.
- All the required pages were created after indepth SEO keyword research.
- All the SEO content was human written and went through meticulously quality check before published
- SEO on page best practices was implemented (keyword positioning, internal linking, URL structure, meta tags, image size & anchor texts, fast loading speed & more).
- Verified on Google search console, Bing web master tool, Google analytics was installed for performance data.
- Off page SEO was done including press releases, guest posting on relevant websites, brand mentions.
- Collaborated with some micro influencers on IG and youtube for more reach.
